Just before Christmas we were contacted by luxury housing developer, Millwood Designer Homes, to photograph one of their developments in Cliffsend, Kent.
Millwood were keen to start expanding their range of marketing imagery to include photographs of their entire developments – rather than just photographs of individual houses as they had been using previously.

The first development they selected to photograph was in a village called Cliffsend at the most Easterly tip of Kent where it meets the English Channel. The development consists of a series of winding roads which lead to approximately 30 houses – some detached, some semi-detached and some terraced. Millwood wanted the images to capture the ‘feel’ of the estate – showing how the properties are spaced, how the style and design varies from house to house, how the roads meander through the estate, and how green space / communal areas have been carefully integrated into the design of the development.
As well as close-up photographs of different parts of the estate which we took with our telescopic mast and from ground level, Millwood were also keen to see what the development looked like from above using the drone. After a suitable flying location was identified and permission had been granted by the landowner (a legal requirement for undertaking commercial drone work from privately-owned land), the flights proceeded.
