Horizon Imaging was recently asked at short notice whether we could photograph the show house in a new housing development in Carshalton, Sutton, London. The photographs were to be taken the following day, and the final processed images had to be available later the same afternoon. Never one to say no to a challenge, Horizon Imaging’s Director, David Hogg, was on site the following morning taking the photographs, and the processed photographs were delivered later the same day as requested.
The photographs were needed as soon as possible to replace a set of unimaginative images taken by the estate agent marketing the property. The show house to be photographed had only just been completed, and there were still areas where snagging had yet to take place – this was most notable in the kitchen where an under-counter strip light was not working (the one near the cooker), and tape was still stuck to parts of the oven cladding. Rather than leave the image as it was, David digitally ‘installed’ a working under-counter light, removed all the tape and cleaned away dusty footprints from the floor as well.

Similar digital ‘tidying-up’ was undertaken in front of the property, where building equipment, fence panels and mud covered the road surface – all of which were removed in Photoshop – see the photograph above on the left (and the original image inset). As a finishing touch, the road surface was cleaned up and digitally enhanced to look like the black asphalt that was due to be laid a few days after the shoot had taken place.
Our client, The Oakwood Group continue to be thrilled with the work we create for them, and previously left us this kind testimonial:
“We have used Horizon Imaging several times this year to photograph a number of our latest new-build developments. David’s ability to photograph in confined spaces and at elevated levels has produced some truly fantastic shots. We can highly recommend Horizon Imaging and look forward to working with them again in the future.”
